IPF members join over 75 TV licence protest

Posted on

We took part in the National Pensioners Convention protest at the proposal to end or means-test the free over-75s TV licence.
The government relinquished responsibility for the licence, handing it over to the BBC in its contract. A number of MPs spoke in support of our protest at a meeting in Portcullis House hosted by Sharon Hodgson MP. Other speakers were Caroline Abrahams, Chief Executive of Age UK, Miriam Stoppard, Mirror Columnist, and Jan Shortt, secretary of the NPC.
