From our “green” correspondent

A sustainable recovery from COVID-19 is one which creates worthwhile jobs, addresses inequality and is good for the planet. There are various movements campaigning for widespread, meaningful recovery, with social and environmental goals central to their mission.

Two major ones are Labour’s Green New Deal — developed before the pandemic in response to inequality and the climate catastrophe — and Build Back Better, a grassroots response to the pandemic. See our August 2020 newsletter for the rest of the article.
