Pensioners attend FA Cup Final screening at Emirates Stadium
May 21, 2014A few IPF members attended the screening of Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory over Hull City last Saturday thanks to Alex Smith of North London Cares. Most of the group met at the Drovers Centre in North Road where they watched Fever Pitch, a film about an Arsenal supporter and his devotion to the Gunners; before getting cabs to the Emirates Stadium for the screening.
After a disastrous start, with Arsenal going 2-0 down after eight minutes, the fightback started with a stunning free kick less than ten minutes later. Midway through the second half, an equalizer was bundled in for 2-2 which is the way it stayed until the end of the 90 minutes. In the second half of the 30 minute extra time, Arsenal went 3-2 up surviving a late scare to win their first trophy in nine years.
As you can see, the pensioners greatly enjoyed their day and the thrilling roller-coaster ride the match provided for them, and were one of the last ones to leave the stadium.
