IPF Garden Party is roaring success!
September 17, 2014Last week, our garden at our Providence Court office was opened by our president Jeremy Corbyn MP, seen here cutting a runner bean, assisted by Richard Watts the leader of the council. And guess what? It was National Runner Bean Day – we knew that, we really did!
Later, IAMS students Tonino O’Leary and Clive Edwin opened the garden mural which they had designed in collaboration with the pensioners, and painted along with teacher Tim for their Silver Arts Award, and gives us a lasting work of art.
Everyone had a good time, with a buffet and drinks; and we had some great live music by Peter from Music for People.
Our garden was created by Laura Arison and Andrew Frank from Olden Community Garden. Laura just won an award for Best Show Garden at the Tatton RHS show!
Thanks to Islington Council for the Local Initiatives Fund money that paid for the garden, and thanks to the volunteers who helped create it.
